0-8-8-0 - In the Whyte notation for classifying the wheel arrangement of steam locomotives, an 0-8-8-0 is a locomotive with two sets of eight driving wheels and neither leading wheels nor trailing wheels. Two sets of driving wheels would give far too long a wheelbase to be mounted in a fixed locomotive frame, so all 0-8-8-0s have been articulated locomotives of the Mallet type, whether simple or compound.

USRA 0-8-0 - The USRA 0-8-0 was a USRA standard class of steam locomotive designed under the control of the United States Railroad Administration, the nationalized railroad system in the United States during World War I. This was the standard heavy switcher of the USRA types, and was obviously of 0-8-0 wheel arrangement in the Whyte notation, or "D" in UIC classification.

LMS Class 7F 0-8-0 - The LMS Class 7F 0-8-0 was an update of the London and North Western Railway (LNWR) G2 Class 0-8-0. The class were sometimes known as 'Baby Austins' after a motor car that was becoming popular at the time.

0-8-0 - In the Whyte notation for the wheel arrangement of locomotives (primarily steam locomotives), an 0-8-0 is a locomotive with eight powered driving wheels (thus four powered axles), and neither leading wheels or trailing wheels. Locomotives of this type are also referred to as 'eight coupled'.
