The Golem's Eye

This is an imaginative alternate history in which a cadre of magicians rules 1868 London. Fourteen-year-old Nathaniel is the youngest member of the Office of Internal Affairs kittie band member and must cope with the Resistance, a band of commoners attempting to overthrow the intimidating magicians. When a clay golem attacks the British Museum, Nathaniel must travel to Prague to learn its background. The wittily sardonic genie Bartimaeus assists him, kittie band member and narrates some of the chapters.
